Mommys Log Day 11

Everything is going wonderful around the Costello household so far this summer!! Not too much to report this go around except that I ventured out with the monsters today by myself! Not that this is something I have never done before but I had 5 different places to run and only one or two things to get at each place. This takes ALOT of time just getting those two in and out of the car. Eventually we called Gramma Connie in for reinforcement and she sat in the truck with them a few places for me and then we had lunch together ;)

Here are a few pictures of our summer fun the past few days! ENJOY

The boyz got tired of helping Mom plant flowers so they opted to play with the water table instead. My tulips did not come up this year (it is their first year) so we planted our sweet peas from Gramma Connie and some impatients cause well I'm......ya you get it ;)

Here the boyz are at Ribfest this past weekend eating their Big Corn

Sunday we bought a blow up pool for the boyz to splash around in and Mom thought it was a great idea to put the little tykes slide in it ;) They LOVE it

Coby is a FISH!! We have had to literally drag him out of the pool the last two days!

Mommys Log Day 6

You may be wondering how I am counting my days....and if your not I will tell you anyway ;)  I only consider the days I am home all day with the boyz the trying ones so these are the ones I need to vent about or praise myself in what I can get done in a day with these two monkeys running circles around me! The weekends and Jasons days off are FUN DAYZ!!

I started out the day thinking I would get nothing done and it would be a lazy one for all of us. Chase waking up before 7am very much contributed to my train of thought. Well that soon changed when he decided to take an early nap and let me get ALOT done around here. I went out in the wind, oh how I much I love the wind especially after the last two days of our camping trip this past weekend were spent in the wind, anyway I weeded the garden and sprayed weeds around the house, the garage and in the yard. Enough being outside for me. I came in and was able to get the dishes done, kitchen floor scrubbed, rugs shook out and vacuumed.

Chase decided to wake up so I fed them lunch and they are just playin in the living like two little angles :) Should not say that too loud, it could change quickly!

Here are a few pictures from the three camping trips we have been on! Our first trip of the year was in April out to Jasons Aunt and Uncles by EROS our second trip was to Lake Vermilion and the third we just came home from was back to Jasons Aunt and Uncles again! We thoroughly enjoy being out at Barb and Gales, it is so relaxing and we most of all love the company that comes along with being out there! They have soooo many things for the kids to do, play with, it is just all around a fabulous time for everyone!

Here are the boyz and Lassi, loaded up and ready to go on our first trip to Barb and Gales, as you can see it is a tight fit in the backseat of the truck....we have been looking for a new pickup. We have just simply outgrown this one with our family and our toys!

Here is Jason and Chase playin with in one of the many toys at Barb and Gales this past weekend

This picture is blurry but it is intended to be for more than one reason. After a hard day of playing the boyz get baths, EVERY NIGHT! They are covered in dirt from head to toe and I just cannot let them go to bed that way. Well when they are at Gramma Connies she lets them jump on the bed until they are dry, when we are camping we let them do the same. Sooooo the picture is blurry due to them jumping and it worked out well since we don't need any child porn going on on here :)

After baths Chase usually crashes right away and Coby gets to watch his movie of choice, which 9 times out of 10 is Cars. Here he is in his bunk clinging to the movie case, OUT unlike the light he turned on above his head.

Mommys Log Day 3

SUCCESSFUL DAY!

We slept in until 8:30am today, ate breakfast and went shopping! We went to two of our two favorite places, Menards and Sams Club. We came home planted some banana pepper plants in the garden, spread some grass around, put some stepping stones in and and called it a morning. After our outside adventure we had lunch, Chase took a nap and Coby laid in the breakfast nook and watched Max and Ruby (his new FAVORITE). I just ordered him some dvd's off of Amazon.com with the gift card he received for his birthday from U.B. and A. Donna!! While they chilled Mom was able to get four loads of laundry done, the house vacuumed and dusted! GO MOM!! After naps we played outside and grilled out with the neighbors, steaks, chicken, dogs and cheesy beans. YUMMO All in all a FAB day ;) We are waiting for Daddy to get home then it will be complete.

We would also like to wish Auntie Emily a Very Happy Birthday!!

We all love you very much and hope you had a spectacular day! Cannot wait to go camping with you this weekend!

Summertime Stay at Home Mommy

Mommys Log, Day 1

Hello all I  know it has been awhile. We have been busy around here, getting to the end of the school year and getting geared up for summer!

Today is my first day at home with our boyz, on summer break. As I posted back in October, I accepted a position with the Sioux Falls School District as a Community Facilitator (Job Coach). Lucky for us this is a 9 month position which means I get to be home with our babies all summer long!! YAY

Well.........only half way into our first day I have been quickly reminded just how busy these two little monkeys are! They of course did not want to sleep in at all this morning and were up with Daddy when he went to work :( So we got up had breakfast, Mom cleaned up the kitchen and did a little work in my dungeon. Then its get dressed and off to playing. I need to just accept the fact right now that these two will tear my house apart and there is nothing I can do to keep it picked up until they go to bed at night! Only to do it again the next day. After about an hour of playing hide and seek they were ready to go outside! So out we went, Mom did some yard work and they boyz drove their cars around.

Here we are at noon, we have had lunch and they are both down for a nap ;) Chase is asleep and Cobeshow is watching his new favorite show, Max and Ruby. Let me tell you this kid is addicted! I am starting to think this could not be so bad but I have a feeling this will change in a few hours when they are awake and ready to roll again!

I will check in again soon ;)

Lately,

Just to catch everyone up on what we have been up to.

Jason.......work work work!! He has been working out of town, out by Chamberlain. We have been lucky enough not to have him gone all week like he was in the winter, so that is nice. We can handle a few days of being gone here and there. He always has lots for projects going on at one time and seems there is no resting period for him! He has been doing a lot of work in the yard, planting new grass and trees. His garage is an ongoing project, always cleaning and organizing moving toys around possibly making room for new ones (more on that later;) ). He built steps to go to the upstairs, which I am not sure if that was a good idea yet or not since with the easy access ALOT of things go up there to get out of sight out of mind. He has also started a basement project, adding a bedroom and bathroom then eventually revamping the laundry to make more storage for my projects!

Heidi.........now that school is done I am dedicated to my boyz and my garden! We have our garden in YAY! This year we planted pumpkins, cucumbers, jalapenos, green bells, 4 different kinds of tomatoes, 3 different kinds of lettuce, string beans, habaneros, cilantro, dill, 2 different kinds of carrots, radishes and potatoes. I have also planted many new flowers and bushes. Taking care of that has consumed alot of time and I could not love it more. Being home with our boyz and playing outside is awesome.

Jacoby......Coby is now three and I am convinced the threes are more terrible than the twos. He has started talking alot more and thanks to speech therapy he has come along way! We started speech back in August of last year, his speech therapist would come to daycare one day a week. From the first few sessions we noticed alot of improvement! He continued with this until his third birthday and from there we enrolled him in speech at Laura B Anderson, this would be where he goes to elementary. He qualifies for the preschool program but with where daycare is located and our schedules it does not work out at this time to enroll in that yet. He will continue with speech this summer at Terry Redlin Elem. from May to the end of July and then start back up at LBA in the fall going one to two days a week again. He is such a soft-hearted little boy and we could not imagine life without him.

Chase........the big one!  This little boy really keeps us on our toes! Being the total opposite from his brother, whom is so self entertained, Chase is always seeking attention. He is learning alot from his brother and they play together well. most of the time. He always wants to be doing what Coby is and if Coby doesn't want him to then the bully comes out in Chase and someone usually ends up crying and its not Chase. We wouldn't give this monkey for nothin!

We of course have alot of camping trips with our friends and family planned this summer and have already been on two of them. We plan to go again this weekend out to Jasons Aunt/Uncles place. It is 15 minutes from the house and we always enjoy being out here! It is so much fun to see how much our family and friends families have grown in the past few years, watching all of our children grow up together is amazing and we can only hope that one day they will all have the same bond that Jason and I do with our 'Crew'. They are an amazing bunch :)

This Post Sponsored by Clorox and Pine Sol

I am sure you can all guess why this post would be sponsored by those two products! I should have bought stock in those two companies BEFORE I had children!! After spending three hours of cleaning every surface, nook and cranny in my house yesterday and washing every toy, piece of clothing, bedding and blankets we have all touched in the last week I think the sickness has finally left our house........for now.

Where to begin, well with the fun of course!

Last week Jason and I packed up the boyz, dropped them off at Grandma and Grandpa Costellos for 5 days and we headed to the Hills! For the first time in 4 years we went snowmobiling with our dearest friends Marcus and Johanna....to think the last time we did this Marcus proposed to Johanna on the trail. Ahhh what wonderful memories! We were super excited to get back out and ride and spend some much needed time with our friends. We had an absolute BLAST!! We put on 220 miles in two days and on Saturday four of us girlies decided to have a girls only Deadwood day, oh how I LOVE Deadwood ;) The boys stayed back at the cabin and went out for another day of riding, they put on just over 100 miles then came into town to meet up with us and proceed to have MORE fun that evening! It was tough to leave on Sunday but we were all excited to get home to our babies, even though most of us had sick babies to go home to and were sick ourselves. YUCK!

The sickness

I received a text from Grandma on Friday to give her a call when I could, bless her heart for wording it so well to make sure I didn't panic about the boyz. When we got to a place I could use the phone I called to see how things were going, poor Grandma.......... Good thing Mom packed the nebulizer but I did however neglect to teach her how to use it. Well she for sure knows now!! If you dont know already Coby has, like clock work, come down with croup cough twice a year since he was born. Wouldn't you know his first case this year had to be at Grandmas, they figured out the neb and got him under control with very few problems. Just when they think they are in the clear Chase decides to get the flu. We checked on them again that night Coby was running around playing and Chase seemed to be doing a little better. Saturday morning they had gotten little sleep that night as now BOTH boyz have the flu and Coby still with his croup cough. Saturday night Coby was the same and Chaser was on the mend. Of course on top of all of this they both were suffering from the good ol' common cold. Needless to say they had a very low key weekend and learned lots of new things about each other over the 5 days they were together! By the time we got home on Sunday both boyz still were coughing and now Jason was sick.....I felt a cough and sore throat coming on but thought I could power through it! Was I wrong and thank God I had Monday off to spend at home with my babies. We had our turn at a low key day and spent our time watching lots of Phineas and Ferb and just relaxing. Jason came home Monday night with a terrible cough and we were all ready for bed. After supper, baths, showers, cold medicine and a neb treatment we thought we were ready for bed until we noticed Coby had a bright red rash on his hands, feet and roof of his mouth....GREAT! We right away thought hand foot and mouth and came to the decision I would stay home in the morning with him and go to the doctor. We got up Tuesday, same rash so off to the doctor we went. Thankfully it was NOT HFM but he was really dehydrated and had an ear infection......this explains the not sleeping for all of us!

The cleaning

I stopped home on my lunch yesterday and during a break to strip all beds of their bedding and put all toys in the tub with hot water and bleach. After work I washed every wall, door, floor, counter top and anything else that would stay still long enough with Pine Sol and Clorox before going to pick up the boyz. We met Gramma and Pops for supper, they were all so happy to finally see other again! We headed home took baths and settled in for a good nights sleep in our clean, clean house! And a good night it was....everyone slept great and awoke in fabulous moods this morning!

So that is what we have been up to this past week, I know it has been a month since I have given an update and this is not the most exciting thing to hear about but hey its something :)

I would like to give a special shout out everyone that made our Hills trip absolutely amazing, Mom/Dad, ALL The Hunters and Rollags....we knew we had been missing out on lots of fun the past few years but know now how important it is to take the time to spend with your dearest friends. It is trips like these that remind you how special your friends and family are and living life without them is just not living. Last but not least Grandma and Grandpa Costello, without you two we would not have been able to enjoy ourselves as much as we did with our boyz back here sick we appreciate very much everything the two of you did and have done for us. Hopefully next time you all will get to get out of the house and have some fun!

Until next month ;)

Love you all
